[iii] take a look at your feet six feet deep

Why are certain members of the complex so concerned by the movement of their rooms or the machines in the hall? Once you adapt, it should be tolerable.

For those enjoying the games: Realize that there exists, as I discussed with Lord Hades, a "Gambler's Fallacy." That is, your statistical likelihood of profit is (X-Z)/Y, where X=the total number of winning combinations, Y=the total number of possible combinations, and Z=the total number of winning combinations less than AB (where A=the cost of playing and B=the number of plays you have already made). This equation remains constant per play; your statistical likelihood of profit decreases over time and your likelihood of winning a specific spin remains consistent. In this way, they are more likely to cost you money than to gain you any and there is no strategy involved which may rectify this.

For those who were interested, I only have two images of the decorations. I was not allowed to take any within the lab. This is my director's office. This is the tree in the break room; my coworkers were amused by the white tree with red ornaments, though I am not entirely certain why.

The decorations went well. Thank you.

Added later: Meet me in Central Park tonight. I want you to help me guide a soul to peace.

People will still do it. Yet I do not know why, exactly.

unf.

Because they prefer emotion over reason. Mortality clouds their minds.

[identity profile] anecessaryend.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
An easy addiction for some. I would hope that those here could restrain from it.

[identity profile] unbiaseddeath.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 08:00 am (UTC)(link)
Some do not see the harm in it. They incite happiness in themselves and care not for what they waste at times.

[identity profile] anecessaryend.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
... Indeed. Then I shall leave those masses to their strange happiness. They will all find the same conclusion, no matter how unintelligent their path.

This is where all of you have been?

[identity profile] unbiaseddeath.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
They do not seem to realize that Death will greet them all in the end.

Many of us. Are you staying, or have you just arrived temporarily? I would certainly appreciate your help here. So few understand the merits of Slaughter.

[identity profile] anecessaryend.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
They know well enough what waits for them, but they prefer to ignore us until it is too late.

I presume, given that I arrived in this great influx, that I am temporary.

Perhaps I will stay, however. Khaos will be Khaos, and I would not be completely in protest of staying for a time.

[identity profile] unbiaseddeath.livejournal.com 2010-12-13 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
They prefer to run, as if we will not find them.

I look forward to knowing.

[identity profile] anecessaryend.livejournal.com 2010-12-14 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
... Sisyphus. [deleted] Indeed. There are a handful of mortals here, however, who seem to have been given a second race, curiously.

As do I.

[identity profile] unbiaseddeath.livejournal.com 2010-12-15 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
I intend to see to them, if it is appropriate. Do you desire them?

[identity profile] anecessaryend.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
So are you.

Do you enjoy it?

[identity profile] blesseddeath.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I do not enjoy having my work interrupted so that I may spend time with mortal teenagers, no.

[identity profile] anecessaryend.livejournal.com 2010-12-13 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
I am glad to hear half of that, at least.

Teenagers?

[identity profile] blesseddeath.livejournal.com 2010-12-13 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
I'm 17. I have to attend high school.

[identity profile] anecessaryend.livejournal.com 2010-12-13 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Interesting. I feel worse for you already.

[identity profile] blesseddeath.livejournal.com 2010-12-13 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Hardly interesting. Teenagers are so empty headed and frivolous.

[identity profile] persephoniacal.livejournal.com 2010-12-13 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed. Oh, it is quite delightful to have you amongst us.

[identity profile] anecessaryend.livejournal.com 2010-12-14 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
Delightful? Really? [deleted] Thank you, Persephone. The Underworld misses you.

[identity profile] persephoniacal.livejournal.com 2010-12-14 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Thoroughly delightful, I assure you. I miss the Underworld desperately especially now that it is so cold up here.
