[vi] death is on my face

Friends. I do not understand the need. I recently read an article on social psychology of American individuals. It was said that people are prone to join groups. It began as an evolutionary imperative, but now remains as a way to accomplish goals, gain prestige, and potentially to gain access to share resources. The cost, however, is a drain on your own time, energy, and resources as well as potentially conflicting views that you are expected to accept; 'norms,' they are called. Rules of how you are to behave as a part of this group. Most do not even acknowledge the concepts of deinviduation or groupthink, both such demeaning effects of group membership.

Tell me, then, why does one join a group? Why does one possess or gain friends?

Because they are weak and cannot think or act for themselves.

A reasonable answer and likely true.

Of course it is true. Such people have power in numbers.

[identity profile] unbiaseddeath.livejournal.com 2011-01-25 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Power, then. Not only a mortal need.

Yes, power and protection. Were they not constantly in their groups, and protected by more who are also organized into groups, they would not be allowed to carry on as they do, in such arrogance and unwarranted hubris.

When then do criminals, who are often without groups, act outside the law? I do not dispute your claims, but I feel that there is a greater truth we are missing.

Sometimes one must go against law in order to retain dignity and honor, especially when those who uphold the law are imbecilic. I would like to say that these are perhaps worthy people, especially in comparison to the fat police of this city, but I am uncertain as to their true motives, and I am hateful towards all New Yorkers by default.

Most police officers are actually of a healthy body mass index (BMI), but I understand what you mean. Most criminals are not worthy from what I have witnessed in my limited experience. Their sense of Killing is inadequate and they commit Slaughter without consideration. It is disgusting.

I see the police often eating a strange, sugary, and circular "O". I do not know what this food item is called, but it seems to be the cause of their obesity. Not that all the police are obese, but this seems to be the cause of it for the ones who are. Their cheeks puff like what the New Yorkers call balloons! Red balloons.

As for the criminals, I suspected as much. All New Yorkers are nothing but rabble: greedy rabble biting and clawing at each other blindly.

Donuts; yes, they are known for their diet of such.

Perhaps. I do not care to judge.

Normally I would say that it's not my business how these people choose to live their forgettable lives, but as is, I am forced to live and contend with them, and I find their ways abhorrent and intolerable. Surely, they should not be allowed to carry on as they do. Something must be done.

It is impossible to change human nature in any mortal span of life. The best you can hope for is to adapt and to find people you can tolerate being around.

Depressing. I won't give in to despair, though. In that case, I will either leave the New Yorkers to wallow amongst themselves, or conquer them, in the name of my glory.

I can only offer you the aid of Slaughter should you decide on the latter.

[identity profile] not-my-heel.livejournal.com 2011-01-28 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I will surely be needing aid, should I choose the latter. I will keep your offer in mind. Consider it an honor.

Murder is not honored, child. It is.
